Marriott Signs Two Exciting New W Hotels in Italy

Two of Italy’s most sought-after hotspots join W Hotels’ growing Italian portfolio (Imagery: Marriott)

Marriott International has announced the signing of new W hotels in the Italian cities of Milan and Naples.

W Milan – Duomo and W Naples are both set to debut in 2024 as part of the brand’s overall growth in the country.

Growth of the brand throughout Italy

After the recent opening of W Rome and the signing of W Florence in 2021, the W Hotels brand is strengthening its presence in Italy with the signing of these two new hotels.

“We are delighted to announce the signing of W Milan – Duomo with Gruppo Marseglia and W Naples with Solido SpA,” said Gianleo Bosticco, Senior Director of Development Italy for Marriott International.

“The bustling cities of Milan and Naples have long been a destination of choice for global jet-setters, and we are delighted to meet the growing demand for luxury lifestyle hotels with these two significant signings.”

Step into the Italian fashion capital

W Milan – Duomo will combine the distinct design-driven identity of the W Hotels brand with inspiration drawn from this hotel’s location in Milan’s fashion district. The hotel will be located within walking distance of sites such as Piazza del Duomo, Teatro alla Scala and Galleria Vittorio Emanuele.

The hotel will occupy a building originally constructed as a bank in the 1920s. Designed by Milanese architects Stefano Boeri Architetti and international design firm Yabu Pushelberg, the hotel will combine the city’s classic grandeur with the bold aesthetic of the brand.

The property will house 166 rooms and 36 suites, including the Extreme WOW Suite, as well as amenities such as the brand’s signature WET Terrace with views of the Duomo, a rooftop bar, a W Lounge and a signature restaurant, as well as the AWAY Spa, an indoor pool spa and fitness center.

A new social hub in Naples

In Naples, W Naples aims to become a focal point of the historic Piazza del Municipio square. Also housed in a former bank, the hotel will open after a multi-million pound refurbishment in which the historic facade will be preserved.

Located a few steps from the ancient Via Toledo, among a number of emblematic sites and within walking distance of the port of Molo Beverello, the hotel will provide a base for exploring the city and its surroundings.

This property promising to combine noble grandeur, culinary delights and haute couture sartoria will welcome its guests in 78 rooms, including 17 suites, some of which will have private terraces. In interiors designed by Rockwell Group, facilities will include an exclusive restaurant, W Lounge and fitness center.
