Tesla topped the list, winning 32% of the vote and beating Toyota with 19% and BMW with 18%. “With 32% of consumers, Tesla claims the crown as the most trusted brand for developing safe and reliable fully autonomous vehicles,” the study said. “This can likely be attributed to a lot more ‘buzz’ surrounding the automaker’s expensive and controversial driver-assist technology, which current Tesla owners can sign up as volunteers and help demonstrate. of Level 2 semi-autonomous hands-free capability. for Tesla’s own R&D efforts.

Additionally, Tesla’s Full Self-Driving suite is available to anyone who buys a vehicle from the automaker and wants to shell out the extra $12,000. It is not a fully autonomous system and requires the driver’s attention at all times. Tesla has a beta program for the Full Self-Driving suite, which qualifies drivers based on a safety score calculated based on driver behaviors. The beta fleet has over 60,000 users and CEO Elon Musk said it will be released in Canada next week.

Other Trustmarks

After Tesla, Toyota was the second most trusted brand in the survey with 19% of votes. “The brand began rolling out its first Level 2 semi-autonomous hands-free driving aid for the 2022 model year of the hydrogen-powered Mirai in early March,” the study said. “Perhaps unsurprisingly, the younger the consumer, the more they trust Tesla while the older the consumer, the higher the trust in Toyota.”

Interestingly, the company that made the Top 10 is Apple. Although they don’t have a vehicle, although rumors have indicated there might be one, 13% of people chose Apple as their most trusted brand. Apple’s credibility as a software company and tech mogul obviously makes it a credible choice. However, with relatively little real progress in its production of electric vehicles and no products in development at the moment, Apple remains very credible and could develop an autonomous vehicle within the decade, as the company encouraged Kevin Lynch to release the car. Apple with an autonomous driving system in November. Autonomous vehicles are being developed by car manufacturers, with much more advanced levels than before. It is essential to know if people know about the brands, the work that car manufacturers do and many other things.
