City preview: 40 new hotels to open in Xi’an [Infographic]

The capital of central China’s Shaanxi province, Xi’an, is expected to add 8,256 new rooms to its hotel accommodation supply.

According to the TOPHOTELPROJECTS construction database, up to 24 of these pipeline properties will fall into the five-star category.

An influx of branded properties

Of the 16 four-star and 24 five-star properties opened in the major city of Xi’an, 13 hotels comprising a total of 2,838 rooms are expected to open in 2022.

Another 17 hotels with 3,368 rooms between them are expected to open in 2023, followed by seven hotels with 1,400 rooms in 2024 and three hotels with 650 rooms in total in 2025 and beyond.

A number of international hotel brands are boosting their presence here at the moment, with Sheraton Hotels & Resorts making a particular impression as the brand works to open four hotels comprising 988 rooms in the city.

Somerset Serviced Residence, Swistyle by Swisstouches, Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts and JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts will both bring properties to the city over the next few years.

Important new developments

Highlights of this impressive development pipeline include the acclaimed JW Marriott Hotel Xi’an, set to open with 332 rooms in early 2023 in Xi’an’s international financial center, and the Banyan Tree Lake Xi’an Meibei. of 60 keys, which is scheduled to open in late 2023 as part of the scenic Lake Meibei resort.

Opening in mid-2023, the 200-room Conrad Hotel Xi’an is slated to be part of the Yunsong project in the city’s Qujiang district and the 200-key Indigo Xi’an Chanba Tengxun is slated to open in early 2023 in a important development also houses a social park.

The luxurious 200-room Four Seasons Hotel Xi’an is next slated to open in mid-2024 in the Gaoxin Muzhai district.
