BT21 Café – A small party | Shibuya 109

BTS fans can get cozy with their favorite BT21 characters at this pop-up cafe at Shibuya Box Cafe & Space at Shibuya 109. Inspired by the Korean boy band’s self-designed Line app characters (known as the name of BT21, in case you didn’t know), the menu here includes adorable dishes, drinks and desserts themed around the seven anime characters: RJ, Shooky, Mang, Koya, Chimmy, Tata and Cooky. For an extra touch of sweetness, the cafe is dedicated to the baby versions of the BT21 crew.

Playful dishes include Shooky’s Beef Stew, Koya’s Cream Pasta, RJ’s Banana Split and Tata’s Chocolate Fondue. Instagram-worthy Balloon Sodas are also on the menu, topped with fluffy clouds of cotton candy, or opt for a café latte or tea latte with images of your favorite characters. Quirky merchandise will also be sold at the cafe, including keychains, washi tape, mugs, stickers and tote bags.

You will want to make your reservations now as the cafe only admits guests for fixed time slots listed on the website. A reservation will cost you ¥715 in advance for an 80-minute coffee session, and you can book here (only in Japanese). There is also a bonus for making a reservation: you will receive an original BT21 transparent ranking shirt as a gift. The drinks also come with collectible coasters that you can take home.

The cafe is also open at Shinjuku Box Cafe inside Lumine East until March 13. To make reservations at the Shinjuku location, visit here.

Not in Tokyo? There are also BT21 cafes in Nagoya and Osaka. For more details, visit the website.
